We are happy to announce the release of the LAKC Pro Show Videos this week. We've created an LAKC Media Channel to help promote the sport of karting to the Southern California market. These races have been an experiment in karting from the beginning to try to see how karting might be modified or presented to a more general audience or how it might attract more mainstream media appeal. This is somewhat of a rough edit, and is far from perfect, but we hope that our intentions can be clear; this is targeted for an audience either unfamiliar or very new to karting. The main focus was the camera angles, on board footage, and editing process to see if there might be a product here that can inform, excite or entertain a general audience. As another disclaimer; NO, this is not a 'Billy Musgrave' propaganda piece, contrary to what some people like to say. I do not accept the awards or deposit the checks; it was all intended as part of the show and to encourage other competitors to be as professional as possible. All I ask is that you ignore the color of the helmet or whose behind the wheel, ignore what stickers are on the kart, and just focus on the presentation of what's being shown on screen. That is what all of the time and effort has been put into; to showcase how cool kart racing can be, plain and simple. To our members and the general karting community, PLEASE share this with the people in your life who have no idea what you do or what a go kart is. That is our intended audience. Our goal is to attract those people, get them off the couch and out to the track so we can share this amazing sport with as many people as possible. (Yes, we've made some blunders this past year; the first show we filmed in May ended up looking washed out and hard to see because of the lighting. This video was shot on Sunday afternoon and came out great. The X175 class was DOA, after several engines came with incorrect parts and reliability issues). Notes for 2018: - We will hold 2 LAKC races over the summer that will be filmed and edited like this one (with many improvements) - The name of the events are being considered to be renamed: The LAKC Summer Showdown -We will run X30 PRO & S1/S2 as the Feature Races. More details will be announced at a later date. Thank you to everyone who took the time to actually read all of this, and especially to those who took the time to watch the video and share it with others. Thank you to the Sponsors in the video who helped make this happen as well! Sincerely, Billy Musgrave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N4UkJtJzq8&t=162s
